The Brazilian National Confederation of Industry (CNI) is the voice of the Brazilian industry. Its mission is to defend and represent the industrial segment in the promotion of a favorable environment for business, competition and the sustainable development of the country.

Its strategic vision is centered in a world class Brazilian industry with the capacity to produce quality and innovative goods and in the commitment to development and social responsibility.

Founded in 1938, it coordinates a system formed by federations of industry of 26 Brazilian states and the Federal District, to which more than 1,000 employers’ unions are affiliated.

CNI acts in the areas of economic and industrial policies, labor relations, legislative actions, quality assurance, productivity, technology, environment, and infrastructure. Besides this, CNI represents the interests of Brazilian industries in the country’s international negotiations, in which Brazil takes part, (WTO, MERCOSUR, MERCOSUR/European Union, Latin-American Integration Association - ALADI, etc.).

Furthermore, CNI strives to exert a positive influence on the formulation of Brazilian foreign trade policies in order to secure better conditions for fostering Brazilian industrial exports.
